Hi friend,
Do you know that, on the average, five times as many people read the headline as read the body copy (David Ogilvy)? So, headlines are your best chance to draw readers’ attention.
Today, I’m sharing with you three tested and tried headline online tools that can be a huge help when creating headlines:
Monster Insights free headline analyser.
It’s perfect when you need to SEO optimise your headlines, and it has built a bank of power words and emotional words to improve your headline immediately.
Look at my exercise with this email headline:
I use this tool often, as it has options to choose what content you write - blog post, email, podcast, YT video, TikTok, ad… it also has the option to create a headline based on a keyword. You have ten credits (uses) per month on a free account.
CO Schedule analyses different factors, so with the same headline, I got an average result:
I like how it analyses clarity and skimmability (really important!) and gives you a reading grade level (you can use the Hemingway app to fine-tune this).
It seems that AIO SEO combines the previous two tools, and it has a great range of factor analysing (and it’s also free!)
The result with my headline:
There is a caveat: all these analysers are predominantly for better SEO results. How your headline performs depends on the channel. For example, here on Substack, SEO-optimised headlines might not work better than short, pinchy, emotional ones or ones that just promise a benefit.
If you really want to learn how to make headlines, these tools can be insanely helpful.
