π§ββοΈ Ditch the Overwhelm and Start Your Marketing in 7 Simple Steps
Tired of marketing mayhem? Your simple solution starts here.
Hi friend,
Let's cut to the chase.
Without marketing done right, youβre screwed.
Marketing is your business's core and soul, no matter what you are selling and your offer.
You canβt be clueless about marketing and thrive in your business (without spending too much on ads and third-party agencies).
If you started a business, there are just three ways to do your marketing right:
To have a sturdy marketing background
To find a co-founder with C-level marketing knowledge
Outsourcing it (parts of your marketing), but still know enough about marketing to keep your hire honest.
What is your pathway? (Iβm curious to see your situation)
Building a business takes time and effort.
But, without marketing, youβre predestined for slow, painful growth (if any).
If you just started your business or you experienced some success and then realised you need to promote your business better, chances are you feel stuck.
Do you feel like you're wrestling with a (marketing) octopus, with eight confusing tentacles reaching out in all directions?
Do you feel like itβs too many things to do, to much to know?
You're not alone.
Itβs my story, too.
I started my parenting blog in 2010 while on my third maternity leave. After writing daily for ten years as a journalist, I had no choice but to start a blog as a writing exercise.
But, my marketing-ignorant mindset hit a harsh online business reality: my writing wonβt get anywhere if I donβt build an audience with a specific problem, create an offer to solve that problem and sell the solution.
So, I decided to learn that marketing.
It canβt be so difficult, can it?
After a few months, I was so overwhelmed by the sheer volume of marketing information and strategies, the guruβs advice that felt like a maze of confusing jargon and overwhelming tactics.
It took me a few years to figure it out.
My learnings led me to leave journalism and completely rebuild my career in marketing: from my parenting blog, parenting NGO, small company, and full-stack marketing agency. Then I left everything and went to Australia to start from scratch again (but thatβs another story :))
My biggest learning from all these years:
Yes, itβs overwhelming.
No, no magic bullet will guarantee instant success.
You canβt have marketing shortcuts (unless youβre ready to spend big, big money)
But, what you can do is create a solid foundation for your marketing efforts that will help you grow sustainably over time.
Ditch the Owerhelm
Most gurus make ( content)marketing overcomplicated and add to the confusion. Iβm prone to think they want to get you to buy another course and another one β¦ where they will give you a secret.
But, there is no secret.
Just a step-by-step approach to build an effortless foundation.
Step 1: Understanding the Foundations of Content Marketing β Find your WHY
Think of your WHY as your businessβs compass. Itβs not just about where youβre going; itβs about why youβre on this journey.
What drives you to serve your customers? Why are you passionate about your industry?
Step 2: Define Your Target Audience and Ideal Buyer Profile
Think of a Buyer Persona as a detailed portrait of your perfect customer.
This isnβt some generic audience; itβs a specific person with real needs, desires, and challenges. Knowing this helps you tailor your content to resonate profoundly and attract the right people.
Buyer personas give you insights into:
who your buyers are,
how they think/feel,
and what motivates them to buy (crucial)
Day 3: Choose the Most Effective Marketing Channels
Never use (only) someone elseβs channel to build relations with your customers.
No matter how good your product is, it will never take off if you donβt show it to the right people at the right time and place. But to succeed, you must find and feed your βstarving crowdβ.
And there is a rule of thumb for any business to choose smart:
Right people + right place + right message >> right channel = success.
Day 4: Map out your customer journey
Have you ever wondered how businesses turn strangers into loyal customers?
Youβve probably heard of the expression βcustomer funnelβ (or βcustomer journeyβ). It sounds fancy, but thatβs just a list of steps each buyer goes from the first contact with your brand to the purchase (or further, post-purchase). Mapping out this journey is crucial for setting up the right marketing strategy.
Day 5: Set up your content strategy
A content strategy is a comprehensive plan for creating, releasing, distributing and managing your content.
Itβs the backbone of your marketing that ties all small steps together.
Day 6: Learn to create crave-worthy content on a consistent schedule.
Use reverse engineering to craft crave-worthy content.
Choose your primary social media network (up to two if youβre starting). This guide can help you decide.
Define your content marketing pillars β specific topics that define your business and resonate with your audience.
Test these ideas on the social network of your choice. Or look at your past posts and find the best-performing posts. These are your main topics.
Day 7: All is set: You have a marketing machine in place!
If you follow clear steps:
You have an excellent product
Well-crafted price
Product positioning and channels to market (place)
A good marketing strategy is in place
Promotion plan
Youβll have a solid foundation to start your marketing on the right foot.
It can be that simple.
How I know that?
I had to come up with my own solution.
The best way to create a product is to create a solution for your own pain.
Iβve been writing online in English for almost two years now and Iβve seen too many βmetaβ solutions - how to live from writing by teaching other people how to live from writing, that kind of thing.
Or high-level-high-ticket offers for 6 and 7 figure businesses.
I crave solutions for people like past myself - fresh entrepreneurs who realise they need marketing and do not have a clue where to start.
So, I decided to create one - a Content Strategy Blueprint.
I donβt promise 6-figures in 6 weeks.
I will help you to lay out simple but strong marketing foundations for your small business.
Iβll teach you to build your house on these foundations using the simple strategic content marketing framework I developed after 15 years of learning and mistakes.
Iβll lead you, hand by hand, to avoid procrastination, confusion, and overwhelm and start doing your marketing simply and effectively.
You donβt need to know everything about marketing.
You need just seven days of deep thinking and creating a basic system that will allow you to leverage your content marketing efforts and scale your business over time with the right tools and systems.
I've developed a simple yet effective content marketing framework that will guide you through the process step-by-step.
No more confusion, no more overwhelm.
Just clear, actionable steps that you can implement immediately.
