Today, I am sharing something short, sweet, and immediately applicable.
We all want a better email opening rate.
Better email opening rates = better conversion = more clients.
But how to get through that pile that hits our inboxes daily - each of us receives 90 emails daily, on average!
However, email marketing is still the best-converting marketing tool.
I’ve been using these steps to optimise my email open rate; try them today and let me know your results.
1. Regular list cleaning 💦
You only need active and interested subscribers, so clean your list regularly to remove inactive and bounced addresses.
I regularly send “Is it time to say goodbye?” emails and remove inactive subscribers. There is no reason to be a sad, unwanted email in someone’s inbox.
2. Segmenting the list 🏔
Segment your audience based on preferences, behaviour, and demographics. It will make sending targeted and relevant emails that resonate with specific segments much easier.
3. Personalise emails 👨 👨 👧 👧
Address your recipients by name and tailor content to their interests, showing that you value and understand them. Active Campaign is one of the excellent tools you can use to go deeper into the segmentation and personalisation of your EDMs.
4. Compelling subject lines 💌
Include attention-grabbing headlines that pique curiosity or offer value using emojis, questions, or urgency tactics. A/B test them and see what works with your audience.
5. Best Sending Time ⏲
Experiment with send times based on recipient preferences, time zones, and business nature. You’ll need to figure this out by testing; there is no universal recipe.
Marketing Fairy Recommends: Pro Writing Aid
As a non-native English author, I've been trying different grammar checks and style editors to help me correct my errors. My impression is that Pro Writing Aid, with its in-depth feedback on writing, offers healthy competition to market leader Grammarly.
You get easy access to tools for checking your grammar and style and a thesaurus for quick reference. It highlights some more sophisticated issues like overused words and phrases, awkward phrasing, and repetitions.
